They also discussed how to ensure the working load for the enterprise and increase the output as part of an effort to launch serial production of a heavy Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft," Aviastar-SP said.
A third Il-76MD-90A aircraft is undergoing flight trials at the enterprise at the moment under the 2019 production program. Two new aircraft of this modification have been handed over to the Russian Military Transport Aviation this year. The flight trials of the first Il-78M-90A air tanker are going ahead. An effort to modernize an An-124-100 heavy airlifter is underway.
The delegation also visited an Inter-Regional Competence Center, which trains young specialists for the Ulyanovsk-based aviation enterprise. The plant will need to hire at least 1,500 new employees in the next two years to deal with growing production volumes and ensure serial production.
