Ka-62 begins certification trials.
The latest multirole Ka-62 helicopter began certification trials in the National Center of the Russian Helicopters Holding. They are to end in 2020 and provide a possibility to supply the helicopter to customers, the holding said.

All the three prototypes produced by Progress enterprise in Primorye region successfully completed preliminary trials and confirmed operability and aerodynamic characteristics. One prototype debuted at MAKS-2019 airshow.
The trials are held both at the center of the Russian Helicopters by Ka-62 designers from the Kamov enterprise and at the Progress producer. The certification trials include 480 flights.
"The helicopter meets all modern requirements and has a major export potential. Oil and gas companies displayed interest in it. The first helicopters will operate in Primorye region," Russian Helicopters CEO Andrey Boginsky said.
The holding plans to obtain a type certificate for Ka-62 this year. Progress is preparing the batch production for certification.
The first batch supplies are to be supported by the Fund for industry development. The next stage is Ka-62 certification by European EASA norms.
"The enterprise can produce 45 helicopters a year, both military and civilian. We are ready to increase the output," Progress Managing Director Yuri Denisenko said.
