U.S. sells Hellfire missiles to UK and AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM to Japan.
On Aug. 26, the U.S. State Department announced it has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the United Kingdom 395 AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles with support for an estimated cost of $46 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale.

The AGM-114 Hellfire family of missiles includes the Hellfire II and Longbow Hellfire Missiles. Hellfire II is a precision strike, Semi-Active Laser (SAL)-guided missile and is the principal air-to-ground weapon for the Army AH-64 Apache, OH-58 Kiowa Warrior, MQ-1C Gray Eagle Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), Special Operations aircraft, Marine Corps AH-1W Super Cobra, and Air Force Predator and Reaper UAS (Picture source: U.S. Army)
The Government of the United Kingdom has requested to buy 395 AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles. Also included is technical assistance, publications, integration support, and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $46 million. The prime contractor will be Lockheed Martin Corporation.

AIM-120C-8 Advanced Meium Range Air-to-Air Missiles for Japan
The U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Japan of 32 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and 1 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM guidance section, spare parts and contractor engineering, technical and logistical support services, and other related elements of logistical and program support for an estimated cost of $63 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale. The prime contractor will be Raytheon Missile Systems of Tucson, AZ.
