“During a tactical exercise of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Troops held at the Ashuluk range in the Astrakhan Region, Russia, the military successfully tested three new indigenous radars, including the Vostok-3D mobile 3D dual-band radar, the Rosa-RB-M mobile low-altitude target detection radar with a circular phased antenna array, and the Rodnik small-size target detection radar,” said Goskomvoenprom in a news release.
Rodnik is designed for detection, measurement of the coordinates and parameters of motion of low-altitude and ground-based platforms (azimuth, range, range rate), automatic target classification and tracking within the assigned zones, and output of radar information to a user according to the assigned protocol (Picture source: KB Radar)
The three radars were controlled by a single command-and-control post. “The trials confirmed the effectiveness of the radars integrated into a three-stage system detecting manned/unmanned aerial vehicles and various cruise missiles,” said Goskomvoenprom.
The Belarusian defense industry has recently delivered another Rosa radar to the country’s military.
The three abovementioned radars have been developed by the KB Radar design bureau.
