The 2-Color Advanced Warning System, or 2CAWS, is a next-generation missile warning system that protects aircrews from new and emerging threats. Based on two-color infrared sensor technology, it provides missile warning and hostile fire detection to improve survivability and mission effectiveness in contested environments.
Key features
- Designed for harsh rotary- and fixed-wing environments
- 2-color IR sensors quickly and accurately detect targets
- Fully integrated with existing countermeasure systems
- System design targets size, weight, and power (SWaP) needs for U.S. Army aircraft
- The system processor is built to MOSA standards
- Low false alarm rate
“Our aircrews who fly into harm’s way need the most advanced protection systems available,” said Chris Austin, director of Threat Detection Solutions at BAE Systems. “This support and sustainment award will afford us the agility to best serve our customer’s needs.”
