The Czech company Primoco UAV, specializing in drone manufacturing, has just won a significant contract for the delivery of two of its One 150 drones to Asia. These drones will be used for the calibration of airport navigation systems, a mission valued at €2.5 million (62 million crowns). This contract underscores the broadening of drone applications beyond the military framework, also reaching into specialized civil segments.
The Primoco One 150, originally designed for surveillance and reconnaissance missions, has proven its effectiveness during its first military application flight test in September 2020. Equipped with military communication systems and an electro-optical reconnaissance system, including an L3Harris radio station and ANW2C data links from Persistent Systems, this mid-sized drone is a key asset on the battlefield.
In addition to its military capabilities, the One 150 features a fully composite structure and fixed tricycle-style landing gear. Powered by a 340 four-stroke, four-cylinder fuel-injected piston engine, it has a maximum takeoff weight of 150 kg and can carry a payload of up to 30 kg. Capable of staying in flight for up to 15 hours, it has an operational range of up to 2,000 km, characteristics that make it ideal for a wide range of operations, both civil and military.
Ladislav Semetkovský, CEO of Primoco UAV, expressed his enthusiasm: "This new order illustrates the versatility of our UAVs, which are increasingly sought after for tasks that require precision and reliability at a lower cost." The company anticipates receiving orders for 50 to 60 drones this year, with a total approximate value of one billion crowns.
With this extension of its capabilities and market, Primoco UAV is establishing itself as a leader in UAV technology, meeting evolving needs in both the defense sector and civil applications.
