Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence receives Mi-2 AM1 helicopter from Polish benefactors.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense recently received a Mi-2 AM1 medical helicopter as a generous donation from Polish supporters, according to reports from Militarnyi. This valuable contribution was made possible through the Zbroimy Ukrainę volunteer initiative, a charitable campaign launched by compassionate citizens of Poland to aid the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces following Russia's full-scale invasion.

The donated Mi-2 AM1 helicopter is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment designed to facilitate the evacuation of wounded soldiers from frontline areas. It can accommodate 2-3 injured individuals on board.
In a statement issued by GUR, the Main Directorate of Intelligence expressed its deep appreciation to the citizens of Poland whose donations played a pivotal role in acquiring this crucial medevac helicopter. Special thanks were extended to the organizers of the "Arming Ukraine" charity initiative, including journalist Bozynar Payonka, lawyer Khrystyna Potapenko, and Nadiya Moroz-Olshanska, the head of the "Mass Events Fund," as well as all the ambassadors who supported this vital project.
It's worth noting that the Main Directorate of Intelligence had previously received an Mi-2MSB-1 helicopter, also intended for the evacuation of wounded individuals from the frontline. This helicopter underwent modernization and was equipped with medical gear thanks to the generous contribution from the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
This project was made possible through the Donate to Evacuate initiative, a collaboration between the KSE Foundation and DefDev charitable funds. The Olena Zelenska Foundation contributed 500,000 dollars in international funds to support this initiative. The helicopter is equipped with essential medical equipment, including ventilators, heart monitoring devices, a defibrillator, an oxygen inhalation module, an oxygen reducer, and an electric aspirator for airway clearance. The helicopter itself is manufactured by a Ukrainian company, while the medical equipment is sourced from the renowned Swiss manufacturer Weinmann, and the navigation equipment is supplied by Garmin.
As a reminder, in October 2023, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) handed over an Mi-2MSB-1 helicopter to the Ukrainian military. This helicopter was previously concealed from the Armed Forces by the former management of Motor Sich JSC. During the investigation, the SBI discovered that in May 2022, the former management had ordered subordinates to transport at least one additional helicopter, first to a European country and then to the Middle East.
