This activity is part of the Training Phase of Small Unit (FIPU) that the professional troop soldiers carried out in the Chacabuco property of the Peldehue Military Field, Metropolitan Region. The purpose of the instruction and training period is for the personnel to be trained and acquire the tactical and technical knowledge that allows them to use the Piranha 6x6.

The MOWAG Piranha is a family of armored fighting vehicles designed by the Swiss company MOWAG (since April 2010 General Dynamics European Land Systems – Mowag GmbH). Five generations of vehicles have been produced, manufactured by Mowag or under license by other companies, and variants are in service with military forces throughout the world. Piranha derivatives have been manufactured under license by General Dynamics (Canada), BAE Systems Land Systems (UK), Cardoen and FAMAE (Chile), and in the USA. The Chilean army has got 250 Piraña I 6×6 and 25 Piraña I 8×8 in its inventory.
