DSEI 2025: Avon Protection MITR-PG1 Combines Comfort Visibility and Eye Protection for Forces in Field.

At the DSEI 2025 exhibition, Avon Protection presented for the first time its new powered goggles, MITR-PG1, part of the MITR system and designed to meet the requirements of armed forces, security services, and first responders. While the RIFLETECH ballistic helmet from Team Wendy, a subsidiary of Avon Protection, was already known and previously introduced, it was once again displayed in London alongside this innovation, reflecting the company’s intention to offer an integrated range of protective solutions.

The MITR-PG1 represents a new development in eye protection. Designed to provide defense against riot control agents such as CS and CN, it is intended for low- to medium-threat environments. It offers an alternative to full-face respirators by providing scalable protection that integrates with the MITR-M1 half mask and various head protection systems. The focus is on compatibility and modularity, eliminating weak points between different protective components.

Its operation relies on a powered air purge system that maintains slight positive pressure inside the goggles, preventing fogging even under extreme conditions and ensuring constant visibility. Weighing approximately 400 g including the battery, the MITR-PG1 can be worn for over eight hours and is compatible with combat helmets and night vision systems. The associated MITR-GF filter provides protection against irritant agents such as CS, CN, CR, OC, or PAVA, as well as battlefield dust, while offering mechanical resistance to operational impacts. Its design supports diverse uses ranging from riot control and counter-narcotics operations to counterterrorism, breaching missions, and special forces tasks.

The RIFLETECH helmet, already established, was also displayed at DSEI 2025 to accompany this launch. It is characterized by an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene shell produced with Ceradyne’s Seamless Shell technology, which removes weak points linked to through-hole fixtures. The internal Air Fit system, designed to reduce the risk of head injury, incorporates ventilation channels and adjustable pads to provide effective protection while allowing prolonged wear. Certified under NIJ RF1 and NIJ Level III standards, it withstands a wide range of projectiles including 7.62x39 MSC, 7.62x51 NATO M80 Ball, 5.56 mm M193 BT, and 9 mm FMJ RN, with a fragment resistance performance measured at a V50 above 4430 feet per second.

The joint presentation of these two products at DSEI illustrates Avon Protection’s approach to advancing complementary solutions for head and facial protection. The MITR-PG1 represents the actual new development of this edition, while the RIFLETECH helmet maintains its role as a reference ballistic solution in the Team Wendy catalog. Together, they demonstrate the company’s integration strategy, aimed at providing modular and compatible equipment adapted to a range of operational environments.

With this launch, Avon Protection underlines its intention to expand its position in the field of personal protection. The combination of a proven ballistic helmet and a newly developed powered goggle highlights the trend toward comprehensive and interoperable systems, designed for both military forces and internal security services. The presentation of these products at DSEI 2025 reflects an international dynamic in which the demand for specialized equipment continues to grow, contributing to the proliferation of integrated protective solutions across Western and partner markets.
