SOFEX
will be the pre-eminent defense and security exhibition
and conference to be held within the Middle East in 2004.
The Exhibition will be managed by a combined civilian and
military team, experienced in the exhibitions field, and
will be organized jointly between Jordan and the General
Exhibitions Corporation of the United Arab Emirates. This
world class Exhibition will focus on special operation forces,
their special-to–role equipment, training and delivery
methods, including combat support and combat service support
systems. In addition there will be a specialist section
dedicated to field medicine. The Exhibition will be supported
by a wide range of tactical, live-firing and mobility displays.

shot down a U.S. attack helicopter AH-64 Apache during fighting
in western Baghdad on Sunday, killing its two crew members.
Insurgents and Marines called a cease-fire in the besieged
city of Fallujah, but the fragile peace was shaken by shootings
that wounded two Americans. Smoke rose on Baghdad's western
edge where the AH-64 Apache helicopter was downed by ground
fire in the morning. More helicopters circled overhead,
while U.S. troops closed off the main highway - a key supply
route into the capital.
