Moscow delivers 15 ground-to-air anti-aircraft missile defense system S-300 to China..

Russia awarded a contract envisaging the supply of 15 ground-to-air missile system S-300 to China, announced this Friday 02 April 2010, to the journalists, the director of the Research department of the group Almaz-Anteï, originator of these systems, Igor Achourbeïli. “We have just carried out very a big contract envisaging the supply of 15 ground-to-air anti-missile systems most recent S-300 to China”, it said. The person in charge stressed that the importers “made the tail” to get the Russian military products, in particular the ground-to-air anti-missile systems S-300 and S-400, specifying that the group however had suspended the process of the concluding of new agreements. “Initially should be equipped the Russian army. When we have additional capacities and that we will have carried out all the contracts concluded, this process will be continued”, explained Mr. Achourbeïli before adding that the question of the additional capacities will be cleared up as soon as the Russian ministry of Defense adopts the military law of programming until 2020. The ground-to-air missiles system S-300 is intended for the protection of industrials area and administrative centres’, military bases and military headquarters. The S-300 is able to destroy ballistic missiles, to destroy aircraft at a distance of 150 km and an altitude going up to 27 km and ground targets if necessary.
