DSEI 2015 presents latest military innovations and technologies in the fields of Land Sea Air.
The International Defense Exhibition DSEI 2015 is one the most important event for the Defense and Security Industry. It's the only event in Europe showing latest military technologies and innovations in the field of Land, Sea and Aerospace for army people. At DSEI 2015, British MOD shows latest products proposed and used by the British Armed Forces.

At DSEI 2015, Thales has launched an upgrade to its unique variable depth minehunting sonar with wideband technology, to improve operational performance, operability and support.

Sonar 2093 is a multi-frequency variable depth sonar system designed to counter the threat of modern mines in both deep and shallow water, and is used by navies worldwide in demanding operational conditions.

The upgrade will be fitted to all Royal Navy (RN) Sandown-class minehunters, in a 60-month programme, to enhance system performance against low target strength mines. Thales will have the responsibility for the design, manufacture, and fitting of the equipment modification to introduce wideband technology into Sonar 2093.

WHIPPET II TATV (Tactical All Terrain Vehicle) is a 2-seater variant of the established WHIPPET platform. With an increased payload capability the WHIPPET II presents an ideal vehicle for heli-bourne, tactical and logisitc support operations.

The vehicle is very similar to the Springer which is also marketed by the Compnay EPS. The contract for the Springer was awarded to UK company, Enhanced Protection Systems Ltd of Leicester, better known not for vehicles but ballistic protection.

The Black Hornet (also called PD-100) is the smallest helicopter drone in the world, it was used in Afghanistan by the British armed forcs. The PD-100 is the first airborne and commercially available Personal Reconnaissance System. It provides end users with a highly mobile sensor system providing an immediate Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capability. The PD-100 is the first airborne and commercially available Personal Reconnaissance System. It provides end users with a highly mobile sensor system providing an immediate Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capability.

The Black Hornet 2 nano sensors are inherently safe and pose virtually no risk to other air vehicles or personnel, allowing the system to be operated almost anywhere at any time without prior airspace coordination. The Black Hornet’s small size and electric motors makes it virtually inaudible and invisible beyond short distances.

The Black Hornet is designed for easy transportation- the entire system fits in a soldier's pocket. A soldier can carry the entire PD-100 Black Hornet unmanned air vehicle system along with his gear.

The Black Hornet is installed with a steerable electro-optic (EO) camera capable of producing still images as well as live videos that are displayed on a hand-held device. The camera can be zoomed for clearer picture using the base station controls.

The Black Hornet is controlled by an operator from the ground using a joystick-like device. The technology onboard the UAV enables the operator to control the drone from a maximum range of 1,000m.

The Starstreak High Velocity Missile (HVM) is designed to counter threats from very high performance, low-flying aircraft and fast 'pop up' strikes by helicopter attacks.

The portable shoulder-launched (single missile) Starstreak is assembled and ready to fire in a few seconds. Preparation for firing involves clipping an aiming unit on to the missile canister.

The aiming unit includes an optical head consisting of a stabilisation system, an aiming mark injector and a monocular sight. The target is acquired and optically tracked using the monocular sight and aiming mark.
The lightweight multiple launcher (LML) has an automatic fire unit and can be carried on any light wheeled vehicle, such as a Land Rover.

The multiple launcher employs three canister missiles together with clip-on equipment and a standard aiming unit. Three targets can be engaged in quick succession without the need for reloading.
