Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S)
Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S)
is the part of the Ministry of Defence
(MOD) which equips and supports
the UK's Armed Forces for current
and future operations. Our Headquarters
is located in Bristol with other
sites located across the UK and
overseas.
With
a budget of £14bn, DE&S
is responsible for the through-life
approach to equipment procurement
and support, and the provision of
an improved service to our front
line customers. This means that
DE&S provide management of defence
equipment from before it is brought
into service until it goes out of
service.
Its programmes are diverse, ranging
from defence clothing and ammunition,
to armoured vehicles, ships and
aircraft. We also manage the defence
supply chain, information systems
and the naval bases.
Who
will visit DVD 2009
DVD is attended
by authorised visitors from all
areas across the defence acquisition,
military and industry communities.
Heads of capability, senior defence
staff from front-line commands and
other military users will have the
opportunity to meet and share ideas
about issues affecting current and
future equipment and support.
There
will be a high media presence, including
specialist press, national and international
defence correspondents as well as
both regional and national television
and radio.
