IDEB Exhibition |
|
From Alexander Rozin Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Director General of Incheba, PLC
We are very pleased to say that the defense fair has returned to Bratislava after 14 years of its existence with a fair degree of success and a great interest on the side of exhibitors and visitors. Foreign exhibitors made up two thirds of all participants. In addition, the Czech Republic was officially represented by two state entities, i.e. Ministries of Defense and Economy - along with the Army of the Czech Republic and the Czech Defense Industry Association. On the other hand, the Slovak Ministry of Defense and the Slovak Armed Forces, which are undergoing modernization and are enhancing their capabilities in compliance with NATO standards, were adequately represented. As this is a long-term program, it guarantees that the interest of our foreign partners in the defense fair will continue to increase in the future.
I would also like to highlight the social aspect of the fair organized particularly in these attractive business premises, where the exhibition took place. I highly appreciated the presence of the President of the Slovak Republic, Slovak and Czech Defense Ministers and Chiefs of Staffs and many other prominent persons at the IDEB opening ceremony. I also appreciate the rich accompanying program, including the significant international conferences and seminars.
I would like to express my thanks to those who were involved in preparing and organizing this successful event. At the same time, I would like to emphasize that we have already initiated the preparation of IDEB 2008, which will be held between April 28-30, 2008. In this respect, we continue to cooperate with the Defense, Foreign, Economy Ministries and the Slovak Defense Association and the Slovak Commerce and Industry Chamber. We expect that the fair will take place in premises twice as large as those used during this year's event in Exhibition Halls BO, B1 and B2. I hope that all future participants will establish a lot of new contacts and contracts.

The IDEB 2008 |
|
The participation of Czech and foreign companies will be by far the greatest in the history of military defence exhibitions in Slovakia.
The character of the upcoming IDEB 2008 defence exhibition is to be shaped by the greatest international gathering of exhibiting and visiting clients, and the wide range of services therewith connected within the exhibition facility, which is deemed essential in supporting the event of this extent and specialisation. But equally remarkable is the profile of commodities to be exhibited, and of programmes and side events, dynamic demonstrations included. The significant position of IDEB among other fairs is also confirmed by the data gathered from its opening year in 2006 in Bratislava, when it was attended by 17,350 sales representatives from 30 countries worldwide, with defence exhibitors coming from 16 countries to promote their products. No other fair to have taken place in Slovakia can live up to IDEB's exhibition parameters.
This year these include: soldiers' equipment and outfit for extreme combat and climatic conditions, including communication and protection means, secure/encoded communication and camera surveillance systems, radio equipment, air defence systems, fire control and command systems, rocket launchers, capabilities ensuring the transport and mobility of deployable forces and their logistic support, especially within peace support operations (PSOs) and in pursuance of NATO standardization.
The attractiveness of the defence fair will be boosted by the new multifunctional exhibition polygon designed in co-operation with specialists from the Slovak Armed Forces and the Defence University of Brno. In addition to staging dynamic demonstrations of the Slovak Armed Forces' equipment, the polygon area will feature equipment presentations by individual companies.
