“The firing test of two missiles Prithvi-II
operated by the Indian armed forces proceeded successfully”,
it indicated, quoted by agency IANS. The preceding shooting
of the Prithvi-II missile, carried out last September,
showed a failure.
India operated these tests the day after the tests of
the Pakistani missile Hatf-V (modification of Ghauri),
with a range of 1.300 km.
Developed since the beginning of the 1980, Prithvi are
short range ballistic missiles of able to transport a
nuclear warhead, whose ground-to-ground version equips
already the Indian Army. Prithvi II has a maximum range
of firing of 350 km and it is able to transport a warhead
of 500kg.
