MSPO

The
16th International Defence Industry
Exhibition (MSPO) once again enjoyed
record-breaking results in all
respects.
Almost 13,000 visitors, 393 exhibitors
- including 261 representatives
of the Polish defence industry
and 132 com¬panies from other
countries - came to Kielce this
year. More than 22,000 m2 of exhibition
space was used for di¬splaying
state-of-the-art armaments and
equipment for the army, as well
as for special units, police,
and other services operating under
the supervision of the Mini¬stry
of Interior and Administration.
There were also logistics, security
and rescue systems.
The 16th International Defence
Industry Exhibition was accompanied
by 21 events such as trade conferences
and seminars, unveilings and presentations
of equip¬ment in operation.
What has become a permanent element
of the Inter¬national Defence
Industry Exhibition is also a
National Exhibition of the Polish
Armed Forces. This is an excellent
opportunity to show the changing
character of our Army, with its
new equipment and increasingly
sophisticated skills which enable
Polish soldiers to carry out their
tasks even in the most demanding
operational conditions. This year’s
Exhibition featured, among other
things, a military camp, which
was supposed to provide visitors
with an idea of conditions in
which Polish troops are fulfilling
their duties as part of the EU
peace-keeping mission in the Republic
of Chad. The extended military
base presented the key elements
necessary to ensure logistics
supplies for troops taking part
in military operations in a foreign
country, in difficult ground and
climatic conditions.
By tradition, during the Kielce
defence industry exhibi¬tion,
other countries have an opportunity
to show the potential of their
defence industries. Following
last year’s presentation
prepared by the United States,
this year we saw a National Exhibition
of Sweden, which featured achievements
of the Swedish defence industry.
The exhibition of military equipment
organized in Kielce was visited
by representatives of the Polish
Government, including the Minister
of National Defence, Bogdan Klich;
senior officials of the Army,
Police, Border Guards and Fire
Brigade, in addition to guests
representing 50 countries.
Each year, the International Defence
Industry Exhibition strengthens
its position in European rankings
of defence industry exhibitions,
with the continuously growing
number of exhibitors and visitors
testifying to its high reputation
and prestige on the European defence
industry market.
The International Defence Industry
Exhibition constitutes an excellent
opportunity to be witness to the
enormous progress in technology
and to become acquainted with
the latest trends emerging on
the defence industry market.
May I use this opportunity today
to invite you to partici¬pate
in the 17th defence industry exhibition,
which will be held from 31st August
to 3rd September 2009.
