The Afghan population does not seem to be happy with the presence of the foreign troops. The Afghans consider that they are able to manage their countries, and to defend them self against the Taliban’s. The Afghan army starts to be effective, and would be able to protect the country against the Taliban’s, or of the attacks which could come from other countries as Pakistan or Iran.

To date nearly 150.000 soldiers of the coalition are deployed in Afghanistan, with an important presence of the American army. According to soldiers of NATO, their actions made move back the insecurity in the country. The Taliban’s forces continue to take commando actions against the sites and the convoys of NATO.

Since the beginning of the offensive in Afghanistan, more than 2.200 soldiers of NATO were killed during missions carried out in the country.
