The Nigeria military has deployed more troops and amoured vehicles to contain the ongoing civil unrest in Jos after two days of post-election violence between Christians and Muslims that left hundreds dead. The clashes were triggered by a rumour on November 28, 2008 that the majority-Muslim All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) had lost in a local election to the mainly Christian Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to a police spokesman. The Nigeria military has deployed more troops and amoured vehicles to contain the ongoing civil unrest in Jos after two days of post-election violence between Christians and Muslims that left hundreds dead.
