US Army urges NLOS-LS program cancellation Non-Line-of-Sight Launch missile system.

The US Army has recommended that the Pentagon cancel a new precision strike weapon system after it struggled significantly during a recent key test and was estimated to have a relatively high cost. Top service officials determined they should terminate the Non-Line-of-Sight Launch System (NLOS-LS) and its Precision Attack Missile (PAM) after conducting a review of the army's precision fires portfolio, a source has told Jane's. NLOS-LS is intended to provide infantry, as well as sailors on Littoral Combat Ships, with the ability to engage moving targets from beyond their line of sight.
