The magnificent Greek holiday Oxi Day is celebrated every year in Greece on October 28th and mostly remembered for general Ioannis Metaxas' strong reply of 'oxi' (no) to Mussolini's request to allow Italian troops to come into Greece at the beginning of WW II. A new U.S. Army Buffalo armoured vehicle (top) and one which was destroyed by an improvised explosive device (IED) are shown in this combination photo in Baghdad September 29, 2005. A U.S. military convoy hit the IED while on patrol in eastern Baghdad and one soldier was wounded, U.S. military officials said. The Buffalo is designed to detect and assess possible IED's on military supply routes in Iraq.

IDEF 2005 Defence Exhibition to Ankara, photographs report from Army Recognition magazine.

The IDEF Defence Exhibition Fair is the most important regional meeting point for decision makers and will maintain and strengthen its position in 2005. Turkey’s position among the political, economical and military developments across the world and especially Eurasia, add further significance to this meeting. The Fair with a very high level of Turkish representation and attendance of governmental and military delegations from over 90 countries, will pay a significant role in determining and shaping the future defence needs of the region. The Army Recognition magazine was there for the IDEF 2005, we cover most of the important de defence exhibition and for the first time we have visited this event.
