The development of the new Russian ultramodern air defense system Triumph-M, equipped with S-500 missile, will be completed in 2015, announced this 30 April 2010, Mister Igor Achourbeïli , general director of the Almaz-Anteï research department charged to develop S-500. “The objective which was posed to us within the framework of the military program of State is to develop the system Triumph-M. This system, equipped with S-500 missiles and intended to ensure the mobile anti-aircraft defense must be developed before 2015”, say Igor Achourbeïli. According to him, the mobility of the system will enable him to move in any area threatened at the time of a conflict. Almaz-Anteï Bureau plans to build “two new factories” which will produce ground-to-air missiles and ground armaments of air-defense, added M.Achourbeïli. The ground-to-air missiles S-500 are intended to replace S-400 able to organize the spread out defense of the sites against a massive air attack. The S-500 missiles will be able to destroy 10 targets against 6 for S-400.
