Boeing has
previously said it plans to deliver the first 747-8 Freighter
to launch customer Cargolux in the middle of this year.
In Monday’s announcement, the company said the first
delivery would be ‘later this summer.’
The first Intercontinental
is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter to a private
customer, reportedly the government of Kuwait. Lufthansa
is set to get the first airline Intercontinental early
next year.
Boeing sent
a 787 Dreamliner last year to the Farnborough (U.K.) International
Airshow, which alternates years with Paris. In addition
to the 747s, Boeing plans to show off its first 787, an
Air Berlin 737-700 with the new Boeing Sky Interior, a
Qatar Airways Boeing 777-200LR, a C-17 Globemaster III
military airlifter an F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet and
a CH-47F Chinook heavy-lift helicopter to the show, which
starts June 20. The military aircraft will be part of
the U.S. Department of Defense display throughout the
show.
‘We are
excited to bring to the Paris Air Show the world’s
newest and most innovative family of commercial airplanes,’
Tom Downey, senior vice president, Boeing Communications,
said in the announcement.
