Cassidian,
the new name of former EADS Defence & Security, will
show at its booth 08-B10 a range of security solutions dedicated
to the Middle East region.

DOME
(Defence Of Mission-critical Entities) – a system
to protect critical infrastructure
|
|
Cassidian
is a market leader in the area of cyber security with
experience of protecting the most sensitive and complex
of networks, particularly in the area of Critical National
Infrastructure. Cassidian's strength in this area lies
in its ability to build a cyber security system, integrating
best of breed products, and providing the policies, procedures
and above all trained and capable staff to ensure that
cyber threats are effectively countered before they can
cause serious harm.

DOME
– Cassidian's answer to global threats
As our world becomes more global, critical infrastructures
are increasingly interconnected and vitally dependent on
each other for their efficiency and resilience. Therefore,
the failure of one element of CNI has consequences potentially
far beyond its national boundaries: protection of such infrastructure
and resilience of critical services are therefore global
challenges.
Cassidian's answer to this challenge is DOME (Defence Of
Mission-critical Entities) – a system to protect critical
infrastructure wherever it may be, such as protection of
oil and gas platforms, harbours, military and civil camps
etc. The core of this system is the operations centre, which
takes care of data fusion, evaluation and the decision support.
A mix of sensors appropriate to the scenario needs is used
for surveillance of ground, air and coastal assets and provides
relevant data to the operations centre and the associated
responder assets.

TRML-3D
surveillance and acquisition radar |

Latest-technology
sensors for security, air defence and missile protection
On display
is TRGS Sec (= Tactical Radar Ground Surveillance, Security),
a high-performance ground surveillance sensor for the automatic
detection, identification and classification of objects
on the ground, at sea targets and low-flying air targets.
It was developed for the particular requirements of security
scenarios and has its primary fields of application in border
security systems, as well as in the context of the protection
of critical infrastructures. It is based on the new AESA
(Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar technology,
which enhances the radar's performance so that one AESA
radar can replace several conventional radars.
In
the field of air defence, the TRML-3D surveillance and acquisition
radar sets new standards. Due to its sophisticated signal
processing, the radar is able to simultaneously deal with
more than 400 targets even in difficult littoral environment.
High mobility, short set-up time of about five minutes and
outstanding cross-country performance in difficult terrain
add to the capabilities and survivability of the radar.
Maximum
protection for helicopters and wide-body aircraft provides
the Airborne Missile Protection System (AMPS). It is an
autonomous system, primarily designed for the stand alone
operation on platforms without a complex electronic warfare
suite onboard. It consists of a small number of components,
does not need any interface to the aircraft's avionics and
is controlled by one single display and control unit. Thus,
AMPS is perfectly suited for retrofit programmes of legacy
aircraft. |

UAV
Tracker
As a
precondition to information superiority, Cassidian pays
specific attention to information gathering. One example
in this field is its light surveillance and reconnaissance
UAV Tracker. It gathers, in day/night conditions, short-range
high resolution image with secured real-time processing.
The system relies on an advanced image exploitation and
mission control ground segment. It offers unrivalled performance,
including exceptional flight stability, thanks to its twin
booms and engines, which also provide a high level of redundancy
and resistance to high winds. Tracker is the high-end solution
for battlefield surveillance.
