“Eaton’s content on the 747-8
platforms demonstrates our continued growth as a leading
component and system supplier for many of the industry’s
most advanced aircraft,” said Bradley J. Morton,
president of Eaton’s Aerospace Group. “We
are proud to be a part of Boeing’s supplier team
and congratulate them on this exciting milestone for the
747-8 program.”
Eaton is a supplier of advanced technology
hydraulic, pneumatic and electro-hydraulic components,
controls and assemblies for Boeing’s 747-8 aircraft
models. The hydraulic system supplies power for flight
controls, braking, steering, trailing edge flap and landing
gear actuation. Content on the aircraft supplied exclusively
by Eaton includes engine-driven hydraulic pumps, flexible
fuel couplings, filter modules, valves and other hydraulic
components.
In addition, Eaton manufactures the aircraft’s
cargo door actuation and passenger door actuation systems,
as well as fuel and hydraulic hoses for engine build-up
and couplings for high-pressure pneumatics.
The Boeing 747-8 Freighter and Intercontinental
are the new high-capacity 747s that offer airlines the
lowest operating costs and best economics of any large
passenger or freighter airplane, while providing enhanced
environmental performance.
In the aerospace industry, Eaton is a
leading supplier of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic pump
and generator products and integrated systems; engine
and airframe fuel pumps; electric motors; aircraft door
actuation, flight and flow controls; fluid, fuel and air
delivery products and systems; nose wheel steering systems;
integrated control systems; cockpit controls and displays;
power and load management systems; pressure sensors, seals,
and fluid health monitoring products and systems. Eaton
serves commercial and military aviation, aerospace, military
weapons, marine and off-road markets worldwide.
