"Only
in the last hour, we saw a rocket that came to Ashdod
and possibly another rocket north of Ashdod, a continuation
of the escalation of recent days," Defense Minister
Barak said. "I repeat and emphasize: "Israel
will not accept terrorism against its citizens. We will
continue to act to prevent terrorism from raising its
head in the region again and we will act to restore quiet
to the entire region."
"The
IDF is Israel's guarantee on the issue of security, in
the short-term and in the long-term, and also the support
for the Israeli government's continuing pursuit of reaching
political agreements in the region," Defense Minister
Barak added.
Two
Grad rockets fired from the Gaza Strip landed on Thursday
in open territory in the Ashdod area and the Eshkol Regional
Council.
Alarms
were also sounded in Yavne and Rishon Letzion but no rocket
landings were identified. A number of people from Yavne
and Rishon Letzion were treated for shock following the
alarms.
