Kuwaiti National Guard presents its range of combat armoured vehicles at GDA 2011.

Four decades had passed since the foundation of Kuwaiti National Guard; this entity that was created under the care of the highest authorities in the country, and grew surrounded by all systems of the country and its establishments and institutions. Its head elevated thanks to the people of this country and to the efforts of all who participated in its glorious construction, to reach its maturity and became an impregnable fortress that defend the country.

The idea of this system grew in the mind of His Highness, Late Sheikh/ Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah when he was the crown prince of His Highness Late Sheikh/ Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah who undertook to turn the idea into reality, as he issued the decree by law no. 2/ year 1967 A.D. by establishing National Guard and entrusted to him the mission of supporting the Armed Forces in defense of Kuwait Land and protect its freedom and independence and cooperating with General Security Authorities in Keeping peace and security of the country and defending the interior front.

Since admitting first batches of homeland volunteers. National Guard did spare no effort in training its forces and supplying them with the newest weapons and equipments.

The Kuwaiti National Guard is equipped with wheeled armoured vehilce Pandur 1 armed with 25 mm Bushmaster gun, Pandur 1 with the Belgian CT-CV 90mm cannon CMI Defence turret, Humvee with remote weapon station and VBL Panhard armed with one 7.62mm and one 12.7mm machine gun.
