For
Moscow attacks on Libya with combat helicopters amount to
ground military operations. |

Moscow
is alarmed over NATO's disproportionate use of force in
Libya and the alliance's clear support for one side in the
Libyan conflict. NATO's actions in Libya are gradually evolving
into a land operation, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei
Ivanov said on Sunday, June 5, 2011.

The
French armed forces website said on Saturday that British
and French light aviation helicopters of the ground forces
had delivered pinpoint strikes at Libya on Friday night
as part of NATO's military operation.
"We know that France and Britain intend to use combat
helicopters, which we see as intentional or unintentional
development [of NATO's operation into] a land operation,"
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
Moscow is concerned "over increasingly frequent disproportionate
use of military force in the country where the nature
and the parameters of interference from outside have been
clearly defined by the UN decisions," Ivanov said.
