There is always combats in the cities of Misratah and Ajdabiya.

 
 
Misratah Libya's third largest city, has been under siege by Gaddafi's forces for weeks. Forces loyal to Gaddafi clashed with Libyan rebels in the strategic eastern town of Ajdabiyah, Libyan rebels source.

An assault by government troops on the city of Misrata killed at least 30 opposition fighters on Saturday, a spokesman said, citing fellow fighters and medics.

NATO says it has destroyed 15 government tanks around Misrata, the last rebel bastion in western Libya. two more tanks was also destroyed by NATO airs trike in the South of Brega.

Saturday April 9, 2011, NATO warplanes intercept a MiG-23 fighter jet operated by an opposition pilot , forcing him to land after he violated the no-fly zone. An unnamed NATO official said the jet took off from an airfield near Benghazi and was intercepted within minutes. “No aggressive action was displayed by the MiG-23 and the NATO fighters proceeded to force it to land back at the Benina airfield.”

Saturday, April 9, 2011, Gaddafi forces have shelled the western outskirts of Ajdabiya on Saturday morning. Reuters correspondent Michael Georgy heard blasts and machinegun fire for around 30 minutes from the western boundary of the town, which is the gateway to Benghazi.

A ship carrying medical supplies has docked in the port of Misrata this Saturday, 09 April, 2011. The ship will support Misrata’s main hospital, by delivering enough supplies to treat 300 patients on the spot. Its aid workers are now on the way to Az-Zawiyah, Jean-Michel Monod, head of the Red Cross team now in Tripoli, said in a statement.

Royal British Air Force Tornado GR4 Aircraft used Brimstone Missiles and Paveway IV Bombs in the area of Ajdabiyah hitting two tanks and in the area of Misratah hitting 5 tanks.

The weapons were discharged as part of armed air reconnaissance and overwatch patrols conducted over Misratah, Brega and Ajdabiyah.

RAF Typhoon aircraft conducted defensive counter air patrols as part of the No Fly Zone enforcement. Two RAF VC10 tanker aircraft supported the Tornado, Typhoon and other coalition sorties to provide air-to-air refuelling.
