At
GDA 2011, the Gulf Defence & Aerospace exhibition exhibition, Renault
Trucks Defense exhibits 2 vehicles on its booth 309:
- the new VAB Mark II 6X6, - the Sherpa Light Scout The VAB Mark II was launched at Eurosatory 2010 as a successor to the famous and “combat proven” VAB already operational in more than 15 countries (5000 units). The VAB Mark II is as robust and reliable as the VAB but its capacities are far superior: - More power (320 hp engine) - More protection (ballistic kit up to NATO level 4 + mines and IEDs kits) - More volume (> 11 m3 - transport up to 12 soldiers) The VAB Mark II is ideally suited for combat and peace keeping missions with the capacity to transport up to 2+10 soldiers. Several 6x6 and 4x4 variants from 15 to 18 tonnes are adaptable to any customer’s specific need: ambulance, command post, weapon systems carrier… |

Renault
Trucks Defense has developed for 5 years a completely new range of 4x4
tactical and light armoured vehicles from 7,7 to 11 tonnes : the Sherpa
Light. The distinctive features of the Sherpa Light are clearly excellent
all-terrain mobility and a huge payload. The Sherpa Light is also designed
to be fitted with add-on armor (ballistic, mine and IED kits) without
losing mobility and payload contrary to older vehicles. The Sherpa Light family now consists in 6 different versions answering all the needs of military and internal security forces. They share the same driveline to ease maintenance and decrease lifecycle costs but are available with different wheelbases, cabs, protection levels, weapon systems and equipments depending on customers' specific needs. The SHERPA LIGHT “Scout”, available in unarmoured or armoured variants, is ideally suited for tactical missions such as scouting, patrol, convoy escort and command and liaison. It is able to transport up to 4 or 5 soldiers and a roof mounted weapon system. |
