Shiba vehicle is conceptually similar to the classic South African Meerkat / Husky or the French made SOUVIM 2, which was developed for the French Army by MBDA for mobility support missions. The Shiba is based on a modified chassis truck Iveco Eurocargo. The Shiba is powered by an IVECO 6 cylinder in line Tector Diesel engine. The family of this modular mine clearing vehicle consists of three variants basing on the same design, which are equipped with specialized equipment to conduct the complex engineer road reconnaissance. The crew has the maximum ballistic and mine protection at level 4, according to STANAG and MIL, due to the special basic design of the vehicle. The SHIBA with the roller is intended for clearing mines or IED from roads being surface laid or buried. The width of cleared path is 2.80 m. |
