At Paris Air Show 2011, Thales presents a scale model of the SHIKRA-60 short range radar mounted on BMP chassis russian made tracked armoured vehicle. The SHIKRA RIS (Radar Identification Station) ,significantly improves target detection. It is a protection against the most aggressive air threats. It stands apart from rival products due to its multiple search and track capabilities and its technical performances.

The SHIKRA RIS is designed to detect all types of threats (combat aircraft, helicopters, UAV). The radar counters the most advanced, high-manoeuvring low observable stealth threats. It can also track 200 targets simultaneously in hostile environment characterised by ground, rain and artificial clutter.

Also an E/F-band system, the shorter range Shikra 60 has an 80-km range, a 15,000-metre ceiling and a similar tracking capacity but is housed in a 15-foot container. This is the surveillance radar that is also mounted on the Ades (Air Defence Extended Solution), which is the compact all-in-one multi-missile option proposed by Thales to counter threats posed by aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, artillery, rockets, mortars, saturating drones and 'late unmasking' targets.
