Ukraine first largest exporter of armoured vehicles for the period 2005 - 2010.
Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, the biggest arms producers in the CIS, have sold 1278 armored vehicles to 22 states in the past five years. APA (American Psychological Association) reports quoting the UN Register of Conventional Arms that Ukraine held the first place in the export of infantry fighting vehicles and armored vehicles in 2005-2010.

Ukraine exported 685 vehicles, Russia 591, Belarus 2. Unlike Russia, the other two countries showed the models of the sold armored vehicles along with the number.

Russia exported military vehicles to 13 countries in the reporting period. Moscow sold military vehicles most to Kazakhstan and Bangladesh. Kazakhstan purchased 102, Bangladesh 100 military vehicles from Russia in the past five years.

Ukraine sold 685 military vehicles to 12 states in the past five years. The biggest clients of Ukraine were Iraq – 190 (27.7%), Azerbaijan – 141 (20.5%) and Chad – 135 (19.7%). 33.5% (230) of the military vehicles sold by Ukraine were BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, 26.2% (180) BTR-70, 8.9% (61) BREM-1U and 6.5% (45) BTR-3.

Belarus exported 2 armored vehicles to Sudan in the reporting period.

The great majority of the vehicles sold to foreign countries were the models created and produced in the Soviet period.

The main vehicles purchased by Azerbaijan and Georgia from Ukraine were BTR-70. In the reporting period Azerbaijan purchased 132 BTR-70, 4 BTS-5B, 3 BTR-3U, 2 BMP-1, Georgia 30 BTR-70, 15 BMP-1, 12 BMP-2, 10 BTR-80 and 6 BTS-5B.
