TACS-M
– The ultimate clip-on thermal solution for Night
Vision devices at IDEX 2011. |
|

|
Vectronix
AG, the Swiss-based, global leader in portable optronics
solutions is proud to introduce its Miniature Thermal Acquisition
Clip-On System TACS-M at the IDEX 2011 exhibition in Abu
Dhabi, UAE. The TACS-M is a revolutionary, micro-sized thermal
imager that clips on to already fielded night vision (NV)
devices such as night vision goggles, helmet or weapon mounted
devices.

The
additional information obtained from the TACS-M thermal
system complements and enhances the amplified low-light
images such devices currently provide. TACS-M maybe added
to most of the available Vectronix NV devices or to many
other night vision products currently in use at armies
and Special Forces around the world.
When clipped to the NV device, the lightweight TACS-M
enables the user to detect thermal sources directly through
the lens of such devices which significantly enhances
the overall situational awareness. The dual capability
has been long sought by customers in the defense and security
industry as it significantly enhances the imagery obtainable
from existing NV products. The combination of the two
technologies provides images in circumstances when physical
barriers, atmospheric conditions or absence of light may
limit the effectiveness of the existing NV devices.

At
IDEX 2011, Vectronix is showcasing TACS-M attached to the
Vectronix helmet-mounted night vision monocular TARSIUS16.
Among TACS-M’s numerous features and benefits, the
combination of TACS-M and TARSIUS16 is among the most valuable.
With a total weight of only approximately 400 g, this combination
is a powerful addition to any soldier’s equipment.
The field-proven TARSIUS16 provides robust night vision
capabilities with razor-sharp image quality, a rugged and
ergonomic design, and low power consumption. TACS-M can
also be attached to Vectronix’ BIG25, BIG35, and NiteSpot50 |
