In
the future Vietnam will be one of the largest purchasers
of Russian armament. |

In
the future, Vietnam will appear on the list of the principal
partners of Russia for the purchase of armaments, announced
Wednesday March 9, 2011 Anatoli Issaïkine, general
director of the Russian Agency of export of armaments, during
a press conference.

The
Vietnamese army currently uses old military equipment of
Russian manufacture as BTR-60
|

“I
will not enter into the details, but I will say that we
maintain with Vietnam very good relationships which were
still reinforced these last years. We have good prospects
for partnership (…) Soon Vietnam will appear among
our principal partners”, it indicated.
A
source within the Russian complex militaro-industrialist
recently declared to RIA Novosti that Moscow and Hanoi had
envisaged a modernization and rearmament program for the
Vietnamese army. The experts evaluate the military cooperation
between the two countries with more than 10 billion dollars. |
