The new Brazilian armoured vehicle Guarani will be bought by Argentina for U.N. missions.
The Brazilian Defense Ministry is negotiating the sale of 14 units of armored Guarani to the Argentine Army. Argentina's interest comes from the Guarani in October 2011 when a delegation of military personnel is factory visit IVECO in Sete Lagoas, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais and attends a demonstration vehicle.

With the new armored vehicle Guarani developed jointly with the Italian company IVECO Defence Vehicles, The Brazilian defense industry can offer a modern solution of combat vehicle for the countries of South America.

Compared to the model in use today by the Brazilian Army, the new project brings advantages such as upgraded armor protection, increased mobility, increased range, independent hydropneumatic suspension, increased protection against mines, better ergonomics, air conditioning, brake system with double disc and ABS, GPS, automatic detection and extinguishing of fire, night operation capability as standard and laser detection system.

According Waldemir Cristino General Romulo, Military Project Manager, there is possibility of export of VBTP-MR Guarani, because Brazil has sold vehicles to Latin America and Africa. "A new family of armored vehicles being developed will certainly be very interesting for the military in those markets"

In April 2012, the Defence Minister of Argentina Arturo Puricelli requested Brazil to speed the delivery of armoured vehicles for troop transport named Guaraní, and which Argentina needs in support of UN peace keeping missions.
