This new wheeled 30mm SPAAGS is a light air and missile defense system with powerful mobility and high rate of fire. The vehicle is designed to be used for air defense missions in short range against fixed wing aircraft, helicopter and tactical UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). According to the Chinese engineers, this vehicle is also able to intercept cruise missile.

The main armament of this new Chinese SPAAGS consists of 6-barrels 30mm Gatling automatic cannon. The turret is equipped with radar mounted on top rear of the turret with day/night computer tracking and firing system. Additional armament can include air defense missile system.

At AirShow China 2012, this Chinese SPAAGS was also armed with four air defense missile systems, two each side of the turret. According to our first analysis, that could be FN-6 missiles. The FN-6 is a missile designed to intercept fixed wing aircraft, helicopter, cruise missile and UAVs at low and ultra-low altitude. It features omnidirectional attack and an aerial infrared countermeasure to counter an infrared homing. The missile adopts infrared guidance system and is characterized by "fire-and-forget", automatic target tracking and engagement.

The turret is mounted on 8x8 armoured chassis which provides a protection against small arms firing and shell splinters.
