Indonesia will purchase new military equipment as howitzer CAESAR, Astros II MLRS and AH-64 1210122.

The Indonesian Army is also set to order Nexter Caesar 155mm self-propelled howitzer as well as ASTROS MRLS. Two artillery battalions of the Indonesian army could be equipped with this type of equipment.

The Caesar (French denomination of Camion Équipé d’un Système d’Artillerie) is designed and manufactured by the French Defense Company GIAT, now Nexter Systems. Caesar is equipped with a 155mm, 52-calibre barrel and can maintain a firing rate of six to eight rounds a minute in sustained fire, or three rounds in 15 seconds in rapid fire.

The Indonesian Army plans also to acquire Astros II MLRS Multiple Launch Rocket System from the Company Avibras from Brazil to equip two battalions, as well as surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) to equip one battalion.

ASTROS II (Artillery SaTuration ROcket System) is a self-propelled multiple rocket launcher system produced in Brazil by the Avibras company. It features modular design and employs rockets with calibers ranging from 127 mm to 300 mm. It was developed on the basis of a Tectran VBT-2028 6x6 all-terrain vehicle for enhanced mobility.
