On Tuesday, July 3, 2012, the IRGC Aerospace Force started massive missile wargames, codenamed Payambar-e Azam 7 (The Great Prophet 7), by firing tens of short, mid and long-range missiles from bases across the country at a single target in Central Iran.

Earlier on Tuesday, local media reported that the IRGC " successfully" testfired a diversity of missiles in the three-day drill.

According to the IRGC's aerospace division commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the drill, dubbed "Great Prophet 7," will see more than 100 hypothesized spots in the central desert be targeted by various kinds of short-range, medium-range and long- range missiles.

The IRGC units fired tens of Shahab 1, 2 and 3, Fateh, Qiyam, Persian Gulf and Zelzal missiles at a hypothetical enemy air base - which IRGC officials had earlier said is a replica of the air bases of the trans-regional powers (the US) - in Iran's Lut Desert simultaneously.
