Jordan would be interested by the Russian-made TOS-1 220mm multiple rocket launcher system 1105122.

Russia’s arms trading company Rosoboronexport has offered Jordan the TOS-1 Buratino multiple launch rocket system, Newsru.com reported on Thursday, May 10, 2012.

Rosoboronexport’s delegation, headed by Valery Varlamov, is taking part in the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference Sofex-2012 in Amman in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

“We have noticed that many delegations at the exhibition expressed high interest in this heavy flamethrower system. In particular, we are working on a project with Jordan on deploying this system on M-60 tank chassis,” Varlamov said.

The TOS-1 heavy flame thrower system is a 220mm 30-barrel multiple rocket launcher system which can fire rockets with thermobaric or incendiary warheads. The TOS-1 is based on the chassis of the Russian-made T-72 main battle tank.

The TOS-1 heavy flame thrower system is designed to destroy lightly armoured vehicles, to set fire and destroy buildings and various constructions and to kill enemy personnel in the open or in shelters.
