Rosoboronexport deputy chief Viktor Komardin said Russia is ready to sell Malaysia a license to build Molniya-class guided missile boats and Mirazh-class patrol boats.

The SA-18 Grouse or Igla or 9K38 is a Russian made man-portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile defence system (SAM/MANPAD). This is a third-generation, man-portable, surface-to-air missile system and it is given the Russian industrial index number 9K38, for the complete system.

The Kornet is a Russian-made anti-tank missile (ATGM). The Kornet-E anti-tank missile is designed and manufactured by the Russian Company KBP Instrument Design Bureau. The Kornet-E is designed to defeat current and future ERA-equipped tanks, lightly armoured vehicles, fortifications and low-flying air targets in electronic and jamming environments at any time of day and night in any weather conditions.

“Malaysia is interested in our Molniya and Mirazh boats,” he said.

“This refers to their construction under license at local shipyards as shipbuilding in Malaysia is well developed.”
