At
the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO 2012 in Poland, Oshkosh
Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation, presents its MRAP All-Terrain
Vehicle (M-ATV) Special Forces Vehicle (SFV) as well as its FMTV Cargo
4x4. The Oshkosh M-ATV is the newest and lightest platform in the heavily amoured Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) family of vehicles currently used by the US military and its allies. The SFV variant is part of the M-ATV family of vehicles, which is designed to support the most challenging tactical operations in rugged and mountainous off-road terrain. The proven vehicle combines best-in-class off-road mobility and high levels of protection. The M-ATV SFV features alterations specific to the needs of special forces, including a modified cargo deck, intended to accept specialized equipment based on each mission’s requirements, and larger front windscreens for increased visibility. Oshkosh has received awards to date for nearly 8,700 M-ATVs, including more than 460 SFV variants, as well as spare parts kits, upgrade kits and aftermarket support. |
