Once
again the companies Renault Trucks Defense and ACMAT showed their expertise
in the design and manufacture of tactical and combat vehicles at the Defence
& Security Exhibition Eurosatory 2012 by presenting to the worldwide
military experts more than 40 different types of vehicles. Monday, June
18, 2012, the international press was invited to test vehicles in off-road
conditions. The team of the online Defence & Security Army Recognition
was there to show you this new range of vehicles. |

BASTION
PATSAS The Bastion Patsas is a wheeled armoured vehicle developed and designed by the French Defence manufacturer Acmat to answer to the new requirements of Special Forces and reconnaissance units. The Bastion Patsas was unveiled at the Defence Exhibition DSEI 2010 in United Kingdom. Based on 60 years of military experience in the rugged and hostile environment of Africa and Middle-East, the new BASTION PATSAS is specifically designed to meet the high levels of mobility, armour protection, payload and survivability in the most extreme driving conditions. |

ALTV The Acmat French Company has developed unrivalled expertise in the field of military tactical vehicles. Its ongoing innovation policy combined with tens of patents it has filed has enabled Acmat to provide numerous customers with the benefit of vehicle well know for their performance and hard wear. Light Scout The Sherpa Light family of 4x4 tactical and light armoured vehicles is designed to provide light forces (infantry, paratroopers, marines, internal security…) with the best mobility/payload compromise of its category. In addition to its outstanding on and off-road performances, the Sherpa Light is fully air transportable (A400M/C-130), multirole and ready for being up-armoured (ballistic and mine kits). VAB
Mark 3 The VAB Mk3 was designed with 30 years of experience with the famous VAB family but is a brand new vehicle. It retains the proven generic architecture of the VAB while being a bit longer and higher to augment the internal volume for the crew. It also retains the 2.55 meters width of the VAB for excellent urban and strategic mobility. At 20 tonnes of GVW, the VAB Mk3 offers sufficient payload to accommodate various mission and weapon systems. It is also designed with a high level of survivability for the crew: ballistic protection up to NATO level 4 (Stanag 4569) and mine / IED protection up to a MRAP level. The VAB Mk3 is powered by a 320 or 340 hp Renault engine (with a 400 hp engine as a later option). It is fitted with independent suspensions, all-wheel drive (6x6), an automatic gearbox and a central tire inflation system (CTIS) for all-terrain mobility. |

Torpedo high mobility The ALTV Torpedo is light fast attack vehicle developed and designed by the French Defence manufacturer Acmat. The vehicle is intended to reconnaissance units and Special Forces which are often confronted to conduct combat missions in desert and all-terrain environments, with the ALTV Torpedo the French Company ACMAT offers a new solution of Fast Attack Vehicle which can be used for that type of combat mission with high mobility, cargo capacity and fire power. |

Bastion
APC “Extreme Mobility” The “Extreme Mobility” Bastion APC has a number of new advantages: a running gear system with independent suspension is driven by a 320 hp engine generating a torque of 1200 Nm at 1200 rpm. The Bastion, which is based on the VLRA 2, is already in operation. The semi-open-topped Patsas version of the vehicle, which was developed with a Special Forces unit, has been marketed successfully. With over 30 horsepower/tonne provided by a 6-cylinder engine, available in Euro 3 and 5 versions, and with its independent suspension running gear, the dynamic capabilities of the “Extreme Mobility” Bastion allow it to handle the toughest terrain. |
