What is not prohibited is allowed," he said, adding Russia did not supply Damascus with "destabilizing arms."

"Syria is satisfied with the military-technical cooperation with Russia. As of today, there are no restrictions on our supplies. We must fulfill our obligations (to Syria) and we will do that," Antonov said.

According to the deputy minister, Syrian authorities have not used the Russian weapons against anti-government protestors.

Antonov also said Moscow had no information the weapons had been transferred to a third party.

"We have agreements with Syria that the Russian side will control the arms we supply. We have a capability to inspect these arms," he said.
