Russian army began to modernize its fleet of main battle tanks T-72B
The Russian defence Company Uralvagonzavod received around 130 tanks T-72B from the Russian army for a major upgrade and modernization.

As a part of Russian state defense oder for 2012, the Company Uralvagonzavod which is based in the city of Nizhny Tagil in Ural has taken delivery of 130 main battle tank T-72B. The T-72B is an uprgrade version of the T-72A. The main feature is the use of a new explosive reactive armor attached externally to the front and the side of the hull and the turret.

Developed from the the T-72 main battle tank, the T-72B variant entered in service with the Russian army in 1984.

The upgraded version of T-72B will be equipped with a new engine, fire control system and communication system which increase the efficiency of the vehicle on the battlefield.
