Thales,
a global technology leader for the Defence, Security, Transportation,
Aerospace and Space markets, will participate to the Africa Aerospace
and Defence (AAD) exhibition which will take place in South Africa from
19 to 23 September 2012. Organised every two years Africa Aerospace and
Defence is the largest exhibition of air, sea and land capabilities on
the African continent. |

At
Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition 2012, Thales will demonstrate
its capabilities in the field of: |

Surveillance
UAV’s: In order to respond to the increasing need of protection
and surveillance, from emergency needs to Forward Operating Bases, robotics
bring a real capacity advantage: reducing the human risks, improving the
performance throughout the mission, and reducing the need for staff. During
AAD, Thales will present its fully autonomous cost effective surveillance
UAV, the Spy
Arrow. Optronics: Thales is a pioneer in the field of optronics, with tens of thousands of products in service in more than 60 countries. Working with its partners and end users, Thales draws on its portfolio of advanced optronic technologies to develop imaging and image processing solutions that are tailored to the exact operational requirements of each customer. On the stand, Thales will exhibit thermal imagers, a reconnaissance pod and its networked image exploitation system as well as a complete forward air controller capability. C4I: C4ISR solutions (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) are designed to deliver information superiority during network-centric operations. The current digitalisation of the battlespace (integrating sea, air, land, space and information dimensions) is a powerful enabler of C4ISR. It offers decision-makers at all levels shared situational awareness, voice, data and imagery connectivity, interoperability and synchronisation of manoeuvres and effects. |
