Along
with the various arms produced at the local facilities, Azerbaijan’s
Ministry of Defense Industry will exhibit two various models of light
machine guns at IDEF-2013 in Istanbul on May 7-10. The Ministry told APA
that one of them is UP-7.62 which is included in the armament of the Azerbaijani
Armed Forces, another is HP-7.62, which was produced by local engineers
and currently is being tested. UP-7.62 was exhibited at IDEF-2011 for
the first time. HP-7.62 will be demonstrated at the international exhibition
for the first time. |

7.62x54 mm caliber
UP-7.62 (universal machine gun) has been designed for combined arms.
It is the modernized form of Kalashnikov machin egun produced by the
former USSR. This machinegun has a charger for 100 and 200 cartridges
and is equipped with a special rail for deploying optical vision systems.
UP-7.62 is capable of 650 shootings in a minute and its weight is 7,5
kg. It is possible to destroy targets at the distance of 1500 meter
with the help of optical targeting coordinator. |
