President Alexander Lukashenko Friday, May 17, 2013, met with a Chinese
military delegation headed by Xu Qiliang, vice chairman of the Central
Military Committee. Lukashenko hailed the close and fruitful cooperation
between the two countries in various fields and said that enhanced military
ties between Belarus and China have contributed to peace and stability
in the region and the world at large. |

Belarus has always given priority to its ties with China and will continue to do so in the future, Lukashenko said. Xu passed to Lukashenko greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping. He said China will work with Belarus to further enhance mutual trust and take relations between the two countries and their military forces to a higher level. Xu also reaffirmed China's commitment to peaceful development and defensive military policy. Also on Friday, Xu met with Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich and held talks with Belarusian Defense Minister Yuri Zhadobin. |
