Chinese Army has unveiled a competition for Special Operations Forces. | |||
The
competition of land subjects of the Special Operation Forces of the Chinese
People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was officially unveiled on July 16,
2013 at the Zhurihe Combined Tactics Training Base of the Beijing Military
Area Command (MAC) of the PLA. |

This is a comprehensive competition of the PLA Special Operation Forces. Delegations from all the military area commands, services and arms of the PLA will compete in dozens of subjects in complex environments in the following seven days to come. All the special operation members in the competition are elite soldiers selected from various military area commands of the PLA. They are familiar with various weapons and proficient in numerous special operation skills, and they are capable of performing missions in complex environments. According to a person in charge of the competition, the competition is a routine military training that can advance actual-combat training, and it can comprehensively improve special operation forces’ level of actual-combat training and actual-combat capability. The competition falls into land subjects and maritime subjects. The latter part was wrapped up in mid-June. |
