Army. |

In April 2010 Meggitt Training Systems was selected by Jurong Primewide
PTE Ltd as a key partner in the development of the $15M Singapore Armed
Forces (SAF) Multi-Mission Range Complex (MMRC). The MMRC was completed
and placed into service in February 2013, and commissioned by the Singapore
Defence Minister, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, on October 4, 2013. Meggitt Training
Systems developed and delivered the Virtual Training System (VTS) for
the MMRC, performing overall project management. |

Meggitt Training Systems, makers of FATS® and Caswell technologies, a division of Meggitt PLC, is the leading supplier of integrated live-fire and virtual weapons training systems, unmanned land and sea vehicles, aerial targets and electronic scoring systems. |

The VTS combines the advantages of virtual simulation training with the use of live weapons, including pistols, rifles, machine guns and .50 caliber sniper rifles. The VTS allows long range shooting using computer generated imagery to represent targets out to 1000 meters. This unique capability of the VTS allows the SAF to use the MMRC to conduct all live fire exercises and sniper training. Ronald Vadas, President of Meggitt Training Systems, commented, "We are proud to be a part of the Jurong consortium, delivering this unique project on schedule and within budget, while simultaneously managing the efforts of eight other companies to meet project deadlines. We were at the forefront in project integration and expertise, providing program and logistics management, range design, safety support, and test management services to ensure a successful completion of MMRC's future training areas." The MMRC, which replaces an existing outdoor live fire range, includes two 50-meter and four 100-meter shooting ranges; and two reconfigurable urban operations training facilities to hone individual and team marksmanship and judgmental skills. The MMRC features custom-designed lighting to support day and night shooting exercises. This, combined with the climate-controlled environment, is expected to save significant training time and resources. Through valuable working relationships with customers like the Singapore Armed Forces, Meggitt Training Systems continues to provide innovative virtual and live fire solutions for advanced military training facilities. |
