Police of Mexico could acquire 40 new armoured vehicles Tiger 4x4 from MDT Armor Company.
Mexican police will acquire 40 new armored vehicles for a total of $ 5.5 million. The selected armoured vehicle has not yet been unveiled but some local police of Mexico are already using the MDT Tiger 4x4 armored vehicle manufactured by MDT Armor based in United States.

The MDT Tiger 4x4 light protected vehicle utilizes a ballistic system with add-on layers, offering various levels of armor protection.
     

The choice of Mexican police in the use of armored vehicles is guided by its vulnerability to crime using now assault rifles and explosives against standard vehicles of police forces.

The purchase of these new vehicles is vital to strengthen the role of Mexican police against drug enforcement and organized crime in optimum conditions and with maximum protection.

Based on a commercial off-the-shelf Dodge RAM 5500 platform, the MDT Tiger is a cost effective, highly armored, Light Protected, All Terrain Vehicle for a crew of 6-9. It is mine and blast protected, with various addon armor options, including reactive armor.

The MDT Tiger utilizes a ballistic system with add-on layers, offering various levels of armor protection. Add-on armor panels are all replaceable, repairable, and upgradeable. All windows, including the windshield, offer the same ballistic qualities. A slatted grill and side panels offer protection for the engine.
